Apprentice Program
From Student to Teacher: A Pathway to Educational Leadership
Our Apprentice Program is an optional one-year teacher training opportunity for GED graduates who want to give back by teaching future refugee students. This unique program combines pedagogical training, hands-on teaching experience, and faith-based leadership development.
Program Overview
Duration: 1 year
Eligibility: Must have passed GED test
Cohort Size: 5 participants per year
Cost: Completely FREE
Stipend: RM1,000 per month during the program
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
Format: Faith-based program with Christian discipleship component
What You’ll Do
Please note: Unlike our GED program, the Apprentice Program is explicitly faith-based and includes Christian Bible study and discipleship. Participants should be open to exploring Christian faith and integrating it with their teaching practice.
After Graduation
Are eligible to apply for full-time teaching positions with Garden City Learning Center
Receive strong professional references
Join our alumni network of educators
Can teach GED subjects at other refugee education centers
Have skills to start their own educational initiatives
